Resistive Touch Monitor

As the demand for touch devices continues to increase, the mainstream touch monitors on the market today can be divided into resistive touch monitors and capacitive touch monitors. What are the differences in principles and technologies between the two? Which features are more in line with your needs? Follow along with this article to understand.

Resistive touch monitor: It is divided into three layers in structure, the inner layer is glass, and the outer layer is film. The sides adjacent to the film and glass are coated with ITO (indium tin metal oxide), and the conductive sides are placed opposite to each other. Resistive touch monitors are pressure activated, and when you press on the screen with your finger or stylus, it connects the top and bottom layers, creating a change in resistance (increase in voltage). The application of resistive touch monitor in touch all-in-one machine, because of its one-point touch technology principle, makes the machine touch more accurate.

Capacitive touch monitor: it is a four-layer composite glass screen, the first layer is ITO to ensure the working environment, the second layer is glass, the third layer is also ITO coating, used as the working surface; the fourth layer is It is a silica glass protective layer. As we all know, the main feature of capacitive touch monitor is that it can realize multi-point touch. Capacitive monitors actually work by using human body current induction, and use the lower layer to transmit signals to the upper layer. When the upper layer is touched by a conductor, the lower layer can quickly receive information and make calculations to determine the position touched by the finger and respond.
Resistive Touch Monitor

1、Touch sensitivity
Resistive touch monitor: pressure is required to make contact between the layers of the screen, and fingers and stylus can be used.
Capacitive touch monitor: It can only be used to touch the surface of the charged finger to generate a capacitive sensing system, and it is more difficult for non-living aids.

2. Accuracy
Resistive touch monitor: The accuracy rate of resistive type can reach more than 98.5%, which helps to operate under the interface using small control elements.
Capacitive touch monitor: The accuracy of capacitive touch monitor can reach more than 99%, and the accuracy of both is very high.

3. Cost
Resistive touch monitor: Lower cost than capacitive, easy to integrate and embed into applications, and less expensive to develop.
Capacitive touch monitor: will incur more production costs, resulting in higher prices when sold.

4. Visibility
Resistive touch monitor: The surface layer of the resistive touch panel is made of PET material, and it is used in the case of sunlight
Capacitive touch monitor: The capacitive touch monitor is made of a four-layer composite glass screen. The inner surface and the interlayer are each coated with a layer of ITO, which is more resistant to ultraviolet rays, so it is more conducive to outdoor use.

When choosing a suitable industrial LCD screen and industrial touch screen, it needs to be determined according to the application environment of the product, the application population and the product market.
